Frequently asked questions
Do my files get uploaded anywhere?
No. Editing, redaction and conversion happen in your browser on your own device, so the file does not leave your computer or phone.
Do I need an account to edit a PDF?
No. The PDF editor is free to use without signing in. An account is only needed for saving documents, agreements and signature workflows.
Can I sign a PDF here?
You can draw a signature and place it on the page. If you need the other party to sign too, with a record of who signed and when, use CollabSafe document signing instead.
Is redaction permanent?
The redaction block is written into the exported PDF, so the covered area is not visible in the file you download and share.
Can I unlock any PDF?
You can remove a password from a document you are authorised to open. It is not a way to break into someone else's protected file.
